So hiii guys! My volunteering experience officially came to an end on the 25th of June.
What can I say about this experience?
For me, it was one of the best experiences I've ever had because it allowed me to truly challenge myself.
Ever since I was a child, I knew I wanted to do volunteer work. I also dreamed of living in Europe for at least six months since flights from where I live are quite expensive, and I wanted the opportunity to visit many different places while I was here.
When I first arrived in Croatia by myself, I was a little scared because it was such a big life-changing experience. Stepping out of your comfort zone and adapting to a new culture isn't always easy. Thankfully, our colleagues from the receiving organization were incredibly kind, welcoming, and always willing to help.
I really enjoyed working with this organization and with our beneficiaries. Every person I met here made this experience even more special, and I'm grateful for all the connections I made along the way.
It was also my first time sharing accommodation with someone. At the beginning, I wasn't very comfortable because I had never done that before, but it turned out to be such a great experience—especially when you're living alone in a foreign country. My roommate and I got to know each other so well by sharing stories about our different cultures and spending time together exploring and going out.
As this journey comes to an end, I know this is an experience I'll always remember. It helped me grow both personally and professionally, gave me more confidence, and created memories that I'll carry with me for the rest of my life.
Thank you so much, Croatia, and thank you to everyone I had the chance to meet along the way. ✨❤️
